What Biblical translation do you most prefer and why?

When I first became a Christian I used the KJV after I learned some history about it I switched to the NIV then after reading a lot of paraphrasing and actual verses removed due to debates from the writers I decided I wanted to know which translation was closest to the original text.

I was fortunate enough to befriend a Jewish man who is a Messianic Rabbi and he said the New American Standard is what he uses because he finds it fits the best with Hebrew and Greek text.
He did say that anyone who studies scripture benefits greatly by using a concordance alongside.

NWT.

According to Jason BeDuhn from the NAU. The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is the most accurate.

Of these 8 the NWT is the best.

The Revised Standard Version has a New Testament translated by Protestant scholars. The old testament was translated by Jewish scholars, and the footnotes were done by Catholic scholars. This version has current English usage, and is used for inter religious dialogue.
