.hack//INFECTION Part 1 PlayStation 2

First in a fourpart series, .hack//INFECTION is set in a near future when society has come to rely heavily on advanced network technology. Recently, a ban against online gaming has been lifted and millions upon millions of people have flocked to a new virtual reality known as “The World.” Two teenage boys are among the participants, taking the roles of Kite and Orca in The World. When they are attacked and Orca’s player falls comatose in the real world, Kite must continue in the virtual reality of the game on a quest to save his friend.
While the story element of “will to power” in an artificial reality may share basic concepts with 1999’s The Matrix, many of the presentational aspects of .hack are created with the sense of an epic anim

I heard about this game several months away and was apprehensive about a Bandai RPG, let alone the fact that it is being split into several chapters. After playing it, however, I did a 180 degree flip. I felt immersed in the world it created. The voice acting of the characters were a welcome change from many of the RPGs coming out on PS2 which STILL havent gotten around to using vocals in their games. The game controls are fairly standard fare but did take a little getting used to. But as with all RPGs for me, the story is wonderful so far. I havent scratched the surface yet with only 10 hours so far. It feels like your actually inside an online game with other people. I have to remind myself that the NPCs arent real sometimes!
I would recommend this game to anyone who loves the RPG Genre as I do. Your money wont be wasted.

Well as far as action Rpgs go this is one of the best I have ever played. It uses the pseudo party system allowing for even more fun because you can get help from up to two other "players". The mmorpg sim is cool as well allowing trading of items giving them to your party members. The games secrets are not incrediblly hard to unlock and only take some time on the users part to get. The whole "login" screen is customizable as more things become unlocked. The fact that it includes a .//luminality OVA is an added bonus. Definitely a good buy if you like games like Zelda and Kingdom heart and animee.

I have played many RPG's in my lifetime, including most of the Final Fantasy series. The .hack series was a refreshing burst of what RPG's are really supposed to be like. This game alone takes you through a simulated online game with the kind of responses you would get from live people on a real online game. The graphics are great, and the storyline makes this a MUST PLAY game if you like ANY RPG games at all. If not, you still might want to consider playing it. This game alone would get you hooked on RPG's. It is fun that will keep you entertained for hours on end. I would probably say this is the second best RPG ever, maybe even number 1.
