Becton-Dickinson Vacutainer Cpt Mononuclear Cell Prep Tube - 8.0ml Sod/Citrate Blue/Black Top, 60 Units / 1 unit

16 x 125 mm x 8.0 mL BD Vacutainer? CPT glass molecular diagnostics tube. Blue / black conventional closure. See thru label. Additive: Density gradient polymer gel and sodium citrate for mononuclear cell preparation. (60/ca) The BD Vacutainer? CPT Mononuclear Cell Preparation Tube is for the one step isolation of lymphocytes, monocytes, and plasma. Whole blood is collected and processed in a closed, sterile tube. During centrifugation a gel barrier isolates the mononuclear cells and plasma from the erythrocytes and granulocytes. The BD Vacutainer? CPT Tube may be used to obtain highly concentrated mononuclear cells and/or plasma for immunotyping, culture, and cell function studies, and for tests using gene-amplification techniques. In addition, the mononuclear cells may be resuspended in the plasma to retain viability for storage and transportation. BD Vacutainer? CPT Tubes are available with either sodium citrate or sodium heparin as an anticoagulant. Blood draw capacity is 8 mL. A 4 mL tube is available in citrate only.

NOW L-Glutamine (500mg) 120 caps

NOW L-Glutamine (500mg) 120 caps

Glutamine has recently been the focus of much scientific interest. A growing body of evidence suggests that during certain stressful times, the body may require more Glutamine than it can produce. Under these circumstances Glutamine may be considered a conditionally essential amino acid. Glutamine is involved in maintaining a positive nitrogen balance (an anabolic state) and also aids rapidly growing cells (immune system lymphocytes and intestinal cell enterocytes). In addition, Glutamine is a regulator of acid-base balance and a nitrogen transporter. As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 3 times a day, preferably between meals. Other Ingredients: Rice Flour, Gelatin (capsule) and Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source).

Lymphocyte Signal Transduction

Lymphocyte Signal Transduction
Signal transduction through lymphocyte receptors involves a variety of signaling molecules including kinases and phosphatases, adapter proteins, small GTPases and GTP exchange factors, as well as membrane phospholipids. Such signaling events may lead to cellular differentiation and growth, effector cell functions, and/or apoptotic cell death. This is the third workshop on this topic that will take place in Crete from May 27 to June 1, 2005. Similar to the two previous workshops, held in Santorini October 2000 and 2002 respectively, the purpose of this workshop is to bring together scientists from allover the world to discuss their latest findings on the various aspects of lymphocyte signal transduction. This limited participation workshop will take place in a venue where the surroundings are most conducive to scientific interchange through lecture presentations, poster sessions, and informal discussions.

Atopica 25mg (15 Gel Caps)

Atopica 25mg (15 Gel Caps)

Description and Composition Soft gel capsule of 4 strenghts are available: ATOPICA contains 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg Cyclosporine A per capsule. List of excipients: Tocopherol (E-307), iron oxide black (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171), edible red ink, excip. ad sol.. Properties ATOPICA contains Cyclosporine A (ATCvet code QL04A A) a selective immunomodulator. It is a cyclic polypeptide consisting of 11 amino acids with a molecular weight of 1203 Daltons which acts specifically and reversibly on T-lymphocytes. Cyclosporine has anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic activities in atopic dermatitis. Cyclosporine acts specifically and reversibly on resting T-lymphocytes and inhibits the antigen-triggered release of lymphokines by activated T-cells. It also inhibits eosinophil recruitment and activation, keratinocyte cytokine production, Langerhans’ cell functions, degranulation of mastocytes and therefore release of histamine and pro inflammatory cytokines. Cyclosporine does not depress hemopoiesis and has no effect on the function of phagocytic cells.
