How many prophecies does a person have to fulfill before they can be considered the messiah?

Comprehensive! None. The job has been filled.

However, if you are referring to Christ, he fulfilled everyone with his birth, death, and resurrection on the cross.

But very nice work! Truly impressive!

Christians; do u think Lot being a drunkard and incestuous, went to heaven?

Genesis 19 (New King James Version)
The Descendants of Lot
30 Then Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountains, and his two daughters were with him; for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar. And he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave. 31 Now the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth to come in to us as is the custom of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. 34 It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” 35 Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. 36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. 37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day.

Uncle Thesis. You conveniently ignore the fact that they drank wine all the time in the old bible times. It's mentioned many, many times. He was obviously very, very used to drinking wine, they must have just pressed more on him than usual. The drinking of wine will make you high in any amount. What is your definition of a 'drunkard'? Because by modern religious stantards, they would have labeled him a drunkard. Look at he Apostles when the holy spirit came upon them and they talked in tongues….obviously they drank ALOT, because they were accused of being drunk and to which they replied that it was only nine in the morning so clearly they did their drinking in the evening when they drank. Which must have been pretty often. Don't give me ur high-handed superiority and if you've been to preacher school I pray for any people YOU get put over because your judgementalism is going to get you into trouble. As for interpretation of scripture, we ALL have the right to interpret for ourselves.

King David was an adulterous and a confirmed murderer.yet he was Chosen as God's Son and was the first to be given the seat at the right Hand side of God.
Jacob was a sly deceiving brother to Esau and did try to wrestle with God and yet to him was the name Israel given that became once a great nation and still a nation to reckoned with.
In Matthew, Jesus was called a glutton and a drunkard, a friend to tax collector and sinners and yet he was vindicated by his wisdom.
The real God do not look so much at your weaknesses but more on your ability and capability to carry out His commands. Sinning is a part of human nature and through experiencing those and with constantly trying to correct may even lead you sit before the throne of God.

Too many meat eaters I see They know not where to be?

They seem to love with glee to upset
Vegetarian & Vegan.. till they fret
Meat eaters the bible they not read
Or they ignore what's said
In Genesis 1: 29
This is the Line:
"I have given thee all herbs & fruit
bearing seed let be thy meat"
Do they thing they're being cute
Critiqing what veggies vegans eat?
Meat eaters thoughts I dispute
Well they in mind are dead
They can't at all truly dispute
You're what you eat it's said!
I guess they are in wrong section
As there no strictly meat eatin'
Spot for their meat pushing
Idiotic dead way of thinking
To the Food and drink section
not section : Vegetarian. or vegan!
As said you're what you eat
You're dead if you eat meat!
Too many meat eaters here
That truly is plainly clear
Nothing from them I fear
Extra points I get here
From flaggin them being here
Extra points that a cheer
Isn't that great plainly clear
Just for flaggin them meat eaters here?
Thank You You Meat Eaters
Cause of Your doings
More points I gather
By flagging your meat pushing
nonsensical chatter
Thank you a again
For thoses extra points
You're been given
Us Vegetarians and Vegans
A reason to be flaggin!
Who says you're awful for eating meat
Just dead in mind for pushing it in
the Vegetarian vegan section!
Those that quote the bible with out verse
and chapter numbers they are the weak
in believe and in faith! I quoted exactly
from the Prince's James Version
University Cambridge Publisher! This is much older than the Kings James Version!
Meat eaters you grip you get grip back
as You so shall you reap! But I also thanked you for the points I get from flaggin your grippin' Thanks again!
Meat eaters you gripe you get gripe back as You so shall you reap! But I also thanked you for the points I get from flaggin your grippin' Thanks again!
I get as many as 14 points sometimes when I'm flagging one sometimes nothing whatever Yahoo decides to give!
I'd rather be a carrot than dead meat!
I still say You are what you eat!
I eat many fruits and veggies
To me they are very delicious

I never ever cared for bloody meat
If that what you want to eat
Ok to me don't lie to me of meat
Nothing good in it to eat
It's total death thing carcass

On meat eating I pass
It's something not for me
I'm vegetarian very healthy
Fruits and veggies for me

Seeds, grains. Mushroom gravy
on mashed potatos is for me
Veggies& Fruits are truly healthy.
There's Nothing better for me

One thing for sure. If we were all Vegans, we could surely all get "Back to the Garden". Imagine what the world would look like, too!
People tease because they just don't know. I once told a vegan that if we didn't harvest all the fish from the sea they would just eat each other, and man, was I over 30 at the time, I mean was I that ignorant once?
Educate the masses.

Jesus’ return will be the most significant event to impact the earth since the Genesis Flood. Your thoughts?

Jesus speaking: the Olivet discourse

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
But as the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall the coming of the Son of man be.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Watch, therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew’s gospel: chapter 24, verses 36-42
Jesus coming again to this earth will signify that the end of the world will be in its final stages. It will be unreversible. There will be great joy in heaven. Maybe much less on the earth.
Those who mock God had best enjoy in their mocking now, as there won't be anyone mocking then.
Jesus will not be coming to set foot on the earth. His first appearing will be in the clouds. 1Thess 4:13-17 But when He does return to the earth it will be as the King of Kings, and no one will be able to stand against our Mighty God.

I agree. It will be the biggest event since the flood and Noah’s ark. Everyone will know Jesus is here. There will be no mistake about it.

Those who have been mocking God here on R&S (and everywhere) will be sadly shocked to the core of their beings, and some will turn to Christ. Those who don’t will serve the devil and end up in hell.

Question in Genesis.?

9:19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

9:23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

9:24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Why Noah curse Canaan?for what?

To answer this question we must realise that one of the roles of the father was to prophesy about the future of his sons… and sometimes his grandchildren. To this day in Jewish families the father lays hands on his children before he dies to speak and impart a blessing to them. These blessings were very important to the families. Jacob lied to get his brother's blessing in Genesis 27. Another example is in Genesis 48 and 49, where Jacob blessed his sons and grandsons.

This type of prophecy was usually a blessing, but in Canaan's case it was a curse, not a blessing. Noah then goes on to bless two of his sons, Shem and Japheth. He never mentions Ham at all.

Canaan did nothing against his grandfather, Noah. And you are right, it doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

But if you keep following the story you will realise that Canaan's offspring did become very corrupt and sinned so much that they lost the land that they settled on. Sodom and Gomorrah were towns whose occupants were from Canaan's lineage. In the days of Abraham it was the land of Canaan that God then promised to Abraham, although at that time they had not sinned enough to lose it (Genesis 15:16).

So, when we realise that Noah cursing Canaan was a prophetic declaration of Canaan's destiny it makes sense because we know how they ended up - a people who lost their land because of their sin. Noah didn't make it happen, he just knew that it would happen that way.

I hope that helps,

God bless you.

HELP.Genesis 9:18-27..is this the first act of homosexuality in the bible….if not can you explain wat happen

18And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
19These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
20And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
24And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwel
i didnt know ……so i was just wondering .i know it doesnt give a hint of homosexuality but i just thought maybe something was left of or maybe i didnt understand what they were saying

Shem and Japheth covered their father to hide his nakedness. This in no way indicates any form of homosexuality. Not even a hint of it.

Where would you get such an idea???

God bless!

Please explain: Genesis 9:20-25 (quoted here)?

I’ve decided to read the Bible out of curiosity. I’m quite confused with this passage. It comes right after Noah’s arch reaches land. He, his wife, his three sons (Shem, Ham, and Japheth), and Ham’s son Canaan are now living on the land again. This is a quote from my Bible:

“20 Noah, a man of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard. 21 He drank the wine, became drunk, and uncovered himself inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a cloak and placed it over both of their shoulders, and walking backwards, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father naked. 24 When Noah awoke from his drinking and learned what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said: Canaan will be cursed. He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.”

So basically, from what I get out of this, one of the first things Noah does after reaching land is grow some grapes, makes some wine, and gets so drunk that he strips himself in his tent and passes out. Then his son (Ham) accidentally finds him that way, tells his brothers, and they cover Noah with a cloak. When Noah wakes up and finds out what happened, he gets so mad at Ham that he decides to curse Ham’s son. So Noah is angry at Ham because Noah himself got blind drunk? So angry, in fact, that he cursed Ham’s son instead of Ham himself? And THIS is the only man God saw righteous enough to be saved from the flood? Out of all the people in the whole world? How do you explain this from a religious point of view???

I’m really sorry if I sound like I’m attacking the Bible, because that’s not my intention. I just want to know what I’m supposed to learn from this story and to hear your guys’ opinions on it.
Okay, thanks for that info. I get what you’re saying about Ham probably being an immature, disrespectful son. But what about Canaan being punished? It’s not his fault his father was like that. I can see how it would be a punishment for Ham to see his family line become slaves, but why not Ham himself?

The scholars say this is actually a kind of satirical polemic against the Caananites.

In the early Israelite Tribal Confederacy (before it was an actual kingdom) there was constant war (actual and of culture and religion) between the Israelites and the Caananites (there was a lot of intermingling mind). There was a huge struggle for identity as the Israelites were often mixing with the Caananites. The religious types wanted the Israelites to keep their identity, as if they lost it they would probably end up worshipping the Baals like the Caananites did.

The Caananites, and ‘philistines’ were known for cultivation of the vine. The Israelites were more your mountain sheep herders. For a long time, these two views were polarised. The heroic pure Israelites versus the debauched Caananites.

This story is mocking the wine makers for their drunkenness, saying that their culture is bogus, and saying that God will not like you if you become like that. If you, the people God chose (like Noah) become like the Caananites, God aint happy.

I’ve over simplified, but thats the general idea. Read ‘the living world of the old testament’ it has tonnes of stuff like this.
