Sketches for Biotech Research
Using “Biotecnology,” “Technoscience,” and “Digital Anatomies” as concepts on this album, American electronic composer Eugene Thacker creates a dense digital noise music with heavy computer processing. Exploiting noise and repetition, the tracks are edited into short stabs sculpted from sample of techno and break-beat music. The result is a monochromatic and somewhat sterile experimental work that fills the gap between noise music of Merzbow and minimal techno of Chain Reaction.
