I want to be a Luddite?
Is there a Bible or something? How can I Luddy without giving up the juice?
Luddism is the belief that labour-saving technologies (i.e., technologies that increase output-per-worker) increase unemployment by reducing demand for labour. It is not a type of anarcho-primitivism, which says that ALL technology is bad, it merely believes that the negative effects of rapid technological advancement outweighs the positive effects
The theory falls flat on its face because, nearly two centuries after the Luddite movement was founded, unemployment in most developed countries has remained at a steady, economically healthy level.
Luddism was also criticised for being little more than a paramilitary group, not primarily interested in anything ideological, but mere looking to protect themselves financially though violence.
But hey, don't let facts get in your way…

Well, this sounds a bit silly. The movement was originally against the industrial age…heck its almost gone. So…or I have never heard of this..Luddite. and maybe you should give up the juice right now…before it is too late.

Given our post-industrial economy, it is odd to claim to wish to be a Luddite; however, there is a movement called the Neo-Luddites, and they are against technology proper. The odd thing, then, would be: Why would a Neo-Luddite be on Yahoo Answers? It undermines the credibility of the Neo-Luddite.
As for "juice," I have no idea what you mean….(unless you mean 'electricity')

a luddite is someone who believes in living without the benefits of technology, or of as little of it as possible. Think of the Ahmish. personally, I enjoy electricity, toilet paper and indoor plumbing especially in winter.

What? Luddites are those who reject technology and live closer to nature.

Be my guest. Are you looking for some help in thatching your roof, or are you planning to become an isolationist too? I would suggest you move in next to the Mennonites or the Pennsylvania Dutch. You never know when you might need a good neighbor and I'm afraid most of us would never do!
